The premiums for the average health insurance package for government employees will increase 8% in 2010.  Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Self-only plan (my plan) will increase 15% next year.

The 8% average increase this year follows a 7% average increase last year.  Looks like I will have to wade through the mess of selecting an insurance company again for open enrollment. Ugh!

(and to think, I am one of the lucky people who has the opportunity to switch to a different provider).
