If you think about how President George Bush pushed for the immigration plan Senator John McCain actually cosponsored & don’t forget Bush was for that immigration plan before he was re-elected & nobody raised the stink they are raising now, the same plan conservatives are now whacking McCain over the head about. Then it only stands to reason that Ann Coulter & all, & I mean all, the conservatives that hate McCain, hate him for one reason & one reason only…. TAX CUTS…… John McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts for the rich & the high tax bracket conservatives hate him for it…yeah yeah you’ll hear other reasons/excuses i.e. immigration, campaign finance reform (McCain/Feingold) & some even criticize him for the many times he spoke out about the incompetent way the war was being executed…… My overall point is if you look at McCain’s stand on abortion & terrorism you’d think after listening to the Republican Convention a few years ago that he would not have a laundry list of well known & influential conservatives eager to take him down.
It’s sad to say but it means one thing & one thing only…..If John McCain would stand up for the richest & most well off people in our society, the same people who were asked to do nothing when our country was headed for war, then he would have the backing of the selfish unpatriotic conservatives like Rush Limbaugh & Ann Coulter just to name a few.
I by no means am supporting John McCain for President, (McCain is courting my endorsement as I type this) I’m just pointing out how Republicans will eat their own for money & at the same time their middle class following run around thinking that the Republicans stand for national security & moral issues first & foremost. But the attacks on McCain obviously show its all about money otherwise please someone tell me why these same people who hate McCain support someone like Romney, who has not a scintilla of experience on foreign policy. Remember just three short years ago we NEEDED to re-elect Bush for national security reasons. The tax cuts were mentioned, no doubt, but the major reason to re-elect Bush was so we all wouldn’t be killed by terrorists, which, no doubt would have happened under a Kerry administration.
