At this point, 9 Democratic leaders have called for Anthony Weiner’s resignation:

Former DNC Chairman and Virginia senate candidate Tim Kaine: “Lying is unforgivable,” Kaine told CBS-19, a Charlottesville, Va., television station. “Lying publicly about something like this is unforgiveable, and he should resign.”

Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.): “Ahh… It would be fine with me if he did. I mean, ultimately that’s up to him and his constituents and his family, but, um… I think at this point it would probably be a good thing if he would (go) ahead and resign.”

Rep Allyson Scwartz (D-Pa.): “Having the respect of your constituents is fundamental for a member of Congress. In light of Anthony Weiner’s offensive behavior online, he should resign.”

Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.): “I think he should have resigned immediately following the statement that he made …” Ross said after a speech Wednesday afternoon in Pine Bluff. “I’m very disappointed in his actions. I think he should resign immediately, and I think all the appropriate authorities should investigate this matter.”

Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-Mass.): “The congresswoman thinks it would be appropriate for Congressman Weiner to step down,” said Tsongas’s spokeswoman.

Rep. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.): “Enough is enough,” said Donnelly. “It’s time for Congressman Weiner to resign. Everyone should be focused on jobs and the economy and his refusal to do the right thing is a distraction.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.): believes Weiner’s resignation would be in the best interest of the constituents and U.S. House. Leahy is in favor of the House Ethics Committee Investigation but would like to see Weiner resign voluntarily, according to a report from The Republic.

Rep. Larry Kissell (D-N.C.): Kissell spokesman Christopher Shuler said Wednesday the Democrat believes Weiner should step down from office.

Rep. Michael H. Michaud (D-Maine): “I am hoping that the congressman will do what’s right for his family, and probably the best decision would be to step down,” said Michaud during a tour of the State House.

Yeah, if only we had a time machine so maybe they could toss Bill Clinton under the bus. Real gutsy guys. This makes me more ashamed of being a Dem than anything Weiner has done. Bleh!
