Absurdlakefront posted a link to Time Magazine’s Top 10 (because it has to be a list) Reclusive Celebrities, as JD Salinger has come out of hiding, surprising everyone who thought he was dead. Half are literature-related, including Bill Watterson, who I would die to have an original C and H sketch from, but his issue is that he refuses to contribute to the exploitation of his characters.  I’ve known about his refusal to give his characters up, but had no idea that he won’t sign books because people end up selling his autograph for high prices. Dave Chappelle is notable for being the only modern celebrity on the list, and most of you know the circumstances as to why he’s there already.  His interview with James Lipton was fantastic, worth the two hours that Bravo aired.  As far as I know, he’s back to performing stand-up on occasion, but I’m not sure if he does regular gigs. Unrelated: I dig his style. Chappelle’s interview with Lipton is FABULOUS.  He gets Lipton to rap.  Enough said. I miss Chappelle.  I miss his show.  We have all of it on DVD, but it’s just not the same, knowing there aren’t any more episodes. Wait…J.D. Salinger is alive?  Crazy! needtherapy fatmanatee
