Fan dies following fall from stands
The Texas Rangers say a fan died after falling out of the stands while trying to catch a baseball tossed his way during the game. Rangers president Nolan Ryan said after Thursday night’s game that the team was “deeply saddened” to learn that the man “has passed away as a result of this tragic accident.”

The accident happened in the second inning after Oakland’s Conor Jackson hit a foul ball that ricocheted into left field. Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton retrieved the ball and tossed it into the stands.
Replays on Oakland’s television broadcast show the man reaching for the ball and apparently catching it before tumbling.

Boyfriend Bails as Girlfriend Is Nailed By Baseball, Goes Viral

Instead of catching the ball or taking the brunt of the hurling object though, the boyfriend (Bo) slid to his right, letting his girlfriend (Sarah) take a direct hit from the foul ball. Since her boyfriend was in the way until the last second, she never saw it coming.

Ouch.

If that wasn’t bad enough, it was all caught on tape. Plus, the broadcasters interviewed the clearly embarrassed boyfriend on TV. Oh, and they gave him a nickname we doubt he’ll be shedding anytime soon: “Bo the Bailer.”

Read: Differences Between Male Yankees and Mets Fans

hotfoot:

The Wall Street Journal ran a poll to try and figure out the differences between male fans of the Yankees and Mets. Not a bad little read, although I resent the fact that basically, we’re a bunch of gun-toting, uneducated booze hounds. Well, maybe the first two, anyway.

On the plus side, we’re much more likely to be married, have pets, and have children, so we’re doing something right.

The results seem to exclude the fact that we have better taste in everything ever, so take all this with a grain of salt.

This is a video of a phillies fan fighting a mets fan. This is exactly why I won’t be attending Mets/Phillies games at Citi Field for probally several years due to these assholes.

Its one thing to support your team its another to come in OUR house and act stupid. Its even shameful to have the ANNOUNCERS cheer them on.

I posted this in the comment section (full of phillies fans who ate paint chips when they were young.)

Typical classless Phillie fans. No surprise there.

You may have won the WS, but YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A SECOND RATE CITY WHEN IT COMES YOUR SHITTY FANS.

Only in Philly you guys need a court room in a stadium or have a fight that results in death of a fan.

Fuck all of you. - justinleon

Mischief at the Mets game…

So as I pointed out earlier there were some insipid fools at the Mets game… Needless to say they weren’t pleasant to sit near, however the antics that came from this situation were simply priceless…

I could write a really long post explaining them all and ruin your dashboard but instead I’ll cut to the chase and tell you about my favorite…

During the whole game these idiots were waving 2008 flags and making sure we were all aware that they won the World Series last year…Yeah yeah great that was last year no one cares anymore…So a Mets fan a few rows in front of us, we’ll call him Stan started arguing with the whole section of Phillies fan, it was quite sad as Stan seemed to be a little out of his league…I look up at the Phillies section and see one of them grab his friends flag…He started running down with the flag waving it like an idiot making a b-line for poor Stan when all of a sudden this guy stops, pulls off his sweatshirt, and turns around revealing his New York Mets shirt. The whole section jumped up and went nuts. Turns out this guy was a Mets fan the whole time sitting up there for the past inning blending in with the Phillies fans when in reality he was in cahoots with the wonderful Stan…They threw the flag on the ground and started stomping on it…

The crowd went crazy…

All the Phillies fans couldn’t help but stand there in shock and applaud what could only be described as a Trojan Horse like epic move… This probably made me more proud to be a Mets fan than the Mets actually winning… - nymetsfans bryanwashere via mattedits

Wedding faceoff: Eagles fans vs. Giants fans

Ted got married to his bride Monica last Saturday in Hoboken, N.J. Most of Monica’s family members are Giants fans, which made for some fun back and forth between the two parties leading up to the big day.

Near the end of the wedding, and as Ted described, “when everyone was at their most lubricated state,” his best man, a professional singer, coordinated with the band to belt out a rendition of Fly, Eagles, Fly.

The best man set it up perfectly to the divided crowd, and a tremendous version of the Eagles’ fight song followed, with half the room screaming the lyrics, and the other half booing. - Philly.com
