Wall Street Fat Cat watches with perverse delight as Tavis Smiley and Cornel West react to the news from Bill O’Reilly that nobody on Wall Street committed any crimes.
Profound thanks to Matt Langer for the original gif.
Thank GOD. Ever since this caught our attention last night, we’ve been waiting for someone with mad gif skills to come along. The fat cat Photoshop is just bonus.

Bill O’Reilly Selectively Edits Joan Walsh Interview
Salon’s editor in chief Joan Walsh went on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Friday to confront the man who continues to campaign against the late Dr. George Tiller. Gawker declared her appearance a tutorial on “how to crush Bill O’Reilly” — but Fox knows that’s nothing a little editing can’t fix!
On Monday’s “Factor,” Fox aired a creatively edited recap, which showed O’Reilly doggedly grilling Walsh about whether late-term fetuses deserve any rights. Left on the cutting-room floor was all evidence of O’Reilly’s fist-shaking, red-faced tantrum. After the clip rolled, O’Reilly added for emphasis that the debate focused on”casual executions of late-term viable fetuses” and “destroying human life for trivial reasons” — which is not at all the case.
Well, sir, two can play at that game. Open Salon has kicked off a contest to see who can create the best O’Reilly remix video. I’m sure Fox won’t mind: It is the fair and balanced thing to do, after all. Click here for instructions on how to play. - Salon

Walsh on O’Reilly Appearance: “It Was a Kaleidoscopic Nightmare”
Joan Walsh and Bill O’Reilly went at it last night on The O’Reilly Factor, and Walsh wrote about the experience before it aired on Salon.com.
When she accepted the offer, “many people I respect told me not to appear,” but she decided to do it — and prepared heavily: “My daughter coached me; so did my litigator ex-husband, so did my friend and Salon co-conspirator Kerry Lauerman. It takes a village to debate Bill O’Reilly!”
So how did it go? “There were a couple of ‘I know you are but what am I?’ moments that I’m not totally proud of. It was a kaleidoscopic nightmare, a TV acid trip,” she wrote.
But after it aired, she added an update. “I’m going to give ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ credit here: The show was pretty much how it went. Exactly how it went, as I can recall,” she wrote. - tvnewser
I posted the video of the segment earlier. Watch it here
Ratings: BillO: “I’m Number One!”…Sorry Bill you’re not even #2
It’s funny how Bill O’Reilly touts that he is the “highest rated” cable news show.. But guess what.. He isn’t the most-watched.. Not even #2..
The data is based on ALL telecasts of viewers watching at least 6 minutes of at least one telecast through April-May. I included the Daily Show, Colbert report Olberman show and Real Time.. These programs include all airings including repeats..
Total Audience:
Larry King - 37.1 Mill
Cooper - 36.6 Mill
O’Reilly - 33.7 Mill
Daily Show - 32.6 Mill
Colbert - 27.1 Mill
Olberman - 17.3 Mill
Maher - 10.7 Mill
Though Bill Maher is seemingly low, HBO is only available in 28% of the country… if you applied Maher’s audience levels to the whole country, he would be on par with Olberman and close to O’Reilly..
Among younger demos.. Bill O’Reilly doesn’t stack up well at all…
M18-34:
Daily Show 6.5 Mill
Colbert 5.7 Mill
Cooper 2.8 Mill
King 2.5 Mill
O’Reilly 1.9 Mill
Olberman 1.6 Mill
Maher 1.2 Mill
M18-49:
Daily Show 11.2 Mill
Colbert 9.6 Mill
Cooper 7.1 Mill
King 6.7 Mill
O’Reilly 6.1 Mill
Olberman 3.5 Mill
Real Time 3.1 Mill
M25-54:
Daily Show 9.7 Mill
Cooper 8.1 Mill
Colbert 8.0 Mill
King 7.6 Mill
O’Reilly 7.2 Mill
Olberman 4.1 Mill
Maher 3.3 Mill
So what does this info say?
A- Though Bill O’Reilly’s program may be #1 among households, his younger demographic appeal is very weak relative to his overall audience.
B- Bill O’Reiily’s audience rarely changes. His “average audience” is double or triple the audience of Cooper and King, however because Cooper and King attract a wider audience, they accumulate a larger audience base.
C- Among younger demos, Daily Show and Colbert are dominant.

IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN VETERANS of AMERICA
On Tuesday night, in reference to our nation’s homeless veterans, Bill O’Reilly said: “They may be out there, but there’s not many of them out there. Okay? … If you know where there’s a veteran sleeping under a bridge, you call me immediately, and we will make sure that man does not do it.”

He raises an important issue. Unfortunately, he got the facts wrong.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, almost 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night in America, accounting for about one-third of the adult homeless population.
Sign the open letter to Bill O’Reilly, and urge him to set the record straight.

Here’s the segment that started O’Reilly’s string of bullshit on the subject of Edwards & our homeless Vets.

O’Reilly says Edwards exaggerrates the homeless veterans problem…the next night he denies he said it….he said he was only speaking about the economy. I’ll try to find that video also. Check back.
