Today Melissa Harris-Perry (@MHarrisPerry) live tweeted “The Help” movie.
“Even if some people say, well, the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that, they will hold the president responsible,” Lamborn said Friday while discussing Obama’s budget policies.
“Now, I don’t want to even have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get, you get it, you know… you are stuck and you are part of the problem now, and you can’t get away,”
GOP Congressman, Doug Lamborn of Colorado, blasted for likening President Obama to a ‘tar baby’

A host on the Fox Business network—criticized last month for suggesting President Obama was “chugging 40’s” during his trip to Europe—is facing allegations of racism after referring to the White House as the “Hizzouse,” “Hizzy” and “The Big Crib,” and guests of the administration as “hoods.”

“Why was he [Pres. Obama] elected? Again, it comes back to who he was. He was black, he was historic. And there’s nothing racist about this. It is what it is. If he had been a dynamic, white, state senator elected to Congress he wouldn’t have gotten in the game this fast… a black man who was articulate, liberal, the whole white guilt, all of that.”

Psychology Today Pulls Offensive Article on Black Women from Website - FishbowlNY
Every now and then comes along an article so shockingly appalling that the only explanation is that all the editors at the publication have been taken hostage. This one might be the best example yet: on May 15th, Psychology Today posted an article by evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa called “Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women?”

“It’s all fun, it’s all a circus, it’s all a rodeo, until it starts to smack of racism. And then it’s no longer fun.”
“If he comes back on this show, and I am not sure we want him back on this show under these circumstances, he ought to be prepared to apologize just for that kind of behavior.”
This morning, a smirking Trump told reporters he was claiming victory over the release [of Obama’s birth certificate]. During the question and answer period, he added that Obama should get “off his basketball court” to respond to gas prices.
“There are viewers of this program that wish I would never mention the name Donald Trump. They‘ve had enough. So have I. I wish May 16th [when NBC announces Trumps position in next season‘s prime time schedule] was coming tomorrow. But as long as Trump continues to try to influence our thinking about American politics and the presidency, I believe his lies must be fought.
Because Trump‘s position in our culture now is sadly no longer simply a television entertainer who lies about nothing more important than how much money he has. When Donald Trump said, quote, “I have a great relationship with the blacks. I‘ve always had a great relationship with the blacks,” end quote, a black friend of mine e-mailed me saying, “one clue that you might not have a great relationship with the blacks is that you call them the blacks.”
No, Trump is not just an entertainer any more. He is now a very dangerous man who must be stopped from doing the damage to this country he may or may not know that he‘s doing. Donald Trump has become America‘s front man for the legitimizing of hatred and racism.” - Lawrence O’Donnell

Tea Party Float Depicts Obama Whipping A White ‘Future Tax Payer’ Pulling A Wagon
But the thing that got people upset was a man in shirt and tie wearing a mask of President Barack Obama. In one hand he held a sign that read “Hey Kids! Thanks for paying out debt!” In the other hand he held a horse riding crop which he snapped at a young teen in front of him pretending to pull the wagon by the handle wearing a shirt that read “Future Tax Payer.”

This is a photo of the first Black girl to attend an all white school in the United States—Dorothy Counts—being jeered and taunted by her white, male peers. This photo encompasses a lot of things that I really hate: prejudice, ignorance, racism, sexism, inequality….”
