“How I Met Your Mother” star Jason Segel has said he’d love to make a movie with Hillary Clinton, but that’s not happening anytime soon.
On “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” last week, Segel said he got “a rejection letter” from the secretary of state.

Clinton responded that one problem is that some human rights standards are “so foreign to other cultures.”
“If you’re someone, as I am, who believes strongly in the empowerment of women … in a lot of places, it’s just not understood,” she said.
“Of course, we take good care of our women,” Clinton told the audience, impersonating one of those foreign leaders. “We don’t let them out of the house, so that they never get into trouble. We don’t let them drive cars, so that they can never be taken advantage of. So we are protecting the human rights of our women.”
“You can imagine the conversations that I have,” she said.
In parts of Africa and Asia, she said, gay rights is “just a totally foreign concept.”
“I mean, the first response is, ‘We don’t have any of those here,’” she said, to laughter. “Second response is, ‘If we did, we would not want to have them and would want to get rid of them as quickly as possible. And it’s your problem, United States of America, that you have so many of those people. So don’t come here and tell us to protect the rights of people we don’t have or that we don’t want.’”
“It’s a very difficult conversation because it’s just not been one that people have had up until now,” she said.

“I would love to see Secretary Clinton become the nominee for President in 2016.”
On the news of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s landmark speech yesterday about gay rights as human rights, a viewer reminds us of an early address she gave. “Beautiful!” @APitty writes, “And it mirrors her comments from Beijing the 1995 UN Conference on Women.”
And indeed, Ms. Clinton’s 1995 speech, given when she was the First Lady, is amazing. I don’t know whether to find it sad or inspiring, in that so much of its argument remains timely.

Bill Clinton on Dick Cheney’s recent comments that Clinton’s wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, should challenge Barack Obama for the 2012 Democratic presidential nomination.
“Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says there is a “below zero” chance that she will challenge President Barack Obama for the presidency in 2012. In an interview with CNN’s Alison Kosik on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, the former senator from New York said she is happy with her current job. “One of the great things about being Secretary of State is I am out of politics,” Clinton said. “I have a big job to do and I am honored to do it everyday.”

“Well, he’s got his priorities skewed, really, Greta — and I take it literally that he was getting ready for, packing for vacation, while here it was Secretary Clinton asking on behalf of the United States of America for another president of another country to step down — that is our president’s role,” the former Alaska governor told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren.
“This is another example of President Obama leading from behind — makes you scratch your head and wonder what really does he do?”
…he’s stepping back and allowing Hillary Clinton to basically carry the water for our entire nation.
“And I’ll bet you, Greta, going out on a limb … but I just think that after a day like this, where you saw that kind of presidential aura of Hillary Clinton as she made that announcement today, while Barack Obama was packing to head out for 10 days on vacation again to go golf and tickle his feet in the sand — I’ll bet you people, if they had to do it over again, who had that choice at that time in the Democrat primary between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama — I bet you today, they are saying: ‘We should have gone with Hillary Clinton.’”
