“I’m just going to stay quiet and try and let this whole thing blow over. I appreciate you approaching me to tell my side of the story, but I think the statement on Facebook and our site says all that I could and would like to at this time.”
Managing editor of Penn State blog that erroneously reported Paterno's death resigns
66% said the firing of Paterno, who had been the school's head football coach since 1966, was the right move
USA TODAY/Gallup poll: Penn State football too powerful
“I can’t escape it. I’ve been going to minimal classes, because every class I go to I get sick to my stomach. People are making jokes about it. I understand they don’t know I’m involved and it was my brother, but it’s still really hard to swallow that.”
On Penn State: Victimhood can be so lonely
Watching these Penn State riots/protests/whatever, I can’t help but think of the students at Penn State who have been victims of monsters like Sandusky. To watch your classmates chant the name of a man who not only permitted but enabled the sexual abuse of young children, some as young as 8-years-old must be so awful. I remember in the wake of my sexual assault, both the immediate and long-term aftermath, the loneliness could be devastating. And I never had hundreds of my friends chanting the name of and praising the cop who ignored my pleas and accusations and refused to act to stop two dangerous sexual predators.
My heart aches for Sandusky’s victims but also for every Penn State student who has survived abuse and who has to step onto that campus tomorrow, look around, and wonder just who is callous enough to have been rioting last night in support of a man who could have stopped the abuse but didn’t.
“As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case,” followed by “As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won’t happen again.”
“Maybe the only thing keeping the Penn State “protest” from getting really ugly is that everybody is so busy taking photos of each other.”
BURN: College student schools Rick Santorum on gay parenting
This is officially our new favorite video. In it, Rick Santorum (speaking to a group of students at Penn State on Tuesday night) makes a strong argument why he’s not a bigot for thinking gay marriage is wrong, and a student tears into him, basically shutting down his argument. This is arguably more damaging than his Piers Morgan interview, where the bigotry charge came up. Rick Santorum, you just got shut down by a college studient. source
