Daily Kos: The 2010 Comprehensive Daily Kos/Research 2000 Poll of Self-Identified Republicans
The results are nothing short of startling.
It’s a long poll, so the results are summarized below the fold. For a direct link to the poll’s crosstabs, click here.
“The Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll is registering its highest level of strong support for President Obama in months.”
The latest numbers from Rasmussen’s rolling poll of 1500 likely voters shows 35% “strongly approve” of the job Obama is doing as president. The last time the number was that high was in June. The day before Obama’s State of the Union, it was 27%.
Gallup: Only 5 Republican states
Only four states are solidly red: The Land of Palin, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. Mississippi leaned Red.
On the other hand, there are 23 solidly Democratic states, and another 10 are leaning Democratic. (Plus DC.)
Of the 12 states that are competitive, six lean slightly GOP, the other six lean slightly Dem.
Poll of 2,000 Republicans
53% think Sarah Palin is more qualified to be president than Obama.
39% of them want Obama impeached.
63% think Obama is a socialist, only 42% believe he was born in US.
23% want to secede from US.
73% think gay men and women shouldn’t be allowed to teach in public schools.
31% want contraceptives outlawed.
Wait this doesn’t add up, right? And it’s not Fox News so according to some folks around here I won’t post this. So never mind, just move along. Nothing to see here.
CNN Poll: Majority confident Obama can handle terrorism
In the wake of the Christmas day attempt to blow up a U.S. airliner, most Americans remain confident that the Obama administration can protect the country from terrorism, according to a new national poll.
Nearly two-thirds of people questioned in the poll say they have a moderate or great deal of confidence in the administration to protect the public from future terrorist attacks, up 2 points from August. Thirty-five percent say they have not much or no confidence at all, down 1 point from August.

Poll: 7 in 10 Afghans support U.S. forces
Nearly seven in 10 Afghans support the presence of U.S. forces in their country, and 61 percent favor the military buildup of 37,000 U.S. and NATO reinforcements now deploying, according to a poll released Monday.
Support for U.S. and NATO forces, however, drops sharply in the south and east where the fighting is the most intense, the poll said.

a combined 58% said the decade was either “awful” or “not so good,”
A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll finds that Americans Judge The Bush Decade: ‘Awful’ And ‘Not So Good’
29% said it was fair, and just 12% said it was either “good” or “great.”
Me, personally I am most disappointed in the Balloon Boy Parents. I expected so much of them and they let me down terribly.
Fair And Balanced? They Don’t Even Pretend To Be
… new Fox News poll, containing an amazingly loaded question.
To be specific, here’s what the poll asked: “What do you think President Obama would like to do with the extra bank bailout money — save it for an emergency, spend it on government programs that might help him politically in 2010 and 2012, or return it to taxpayers?”
The basic assumption here, of course, is that the only reason Obama would want to spend money on the economy is to use the cash as a sort of political slush fund — not simply saying that one disagrees with spending the money or thinks it’s a bad idea, but that it is inherently illegitimate — while saving the money or cutting taxes have purer motives. - tpm
Poll: Thirty-five percent of Republicans said that they would support impeaching Obama
“42 percent of Republicans believe that President Obama was not born in the United States, while 22 percent still remain uncertain of his birthplace origin. On the flip side, the poll also finds that 25 percent of Democrats believe that George W. Bush intentionally allowed the September 11th attacks to occur to serve as a catalyst for a war in the Middle East.”
Obama job approval falls to all-time low of 50%. Poll shows disapproval at 39%.
Just released: new CBS News/NY Times Poll.
Poll shows approval for Obama handling of Afghanistan at 48%, the economy at 47% and health care at 42%
On Obama setting July 2011 target to start withdrawing troops, poll shows 41% rate it a good idea, 55% a bad idea.
