It is an important thing to instill in a younger generation about the impact of rape, the lasting impact of rape. Children from grade school to high school to college are incredibly susceptible and incredibly malleable, as we all know. To get them early, to teach them about the facts and figures and other realities of rape is key. It is an important issue to me as not only a man, but as an educator, as a human being and as a person on this planet.

Lara Logan thought she was going to die in Tahrir Square when she was sexually assaulted by a mob on the night that Hosni Mubarak’s government fell in Cairo.

Ms. Logan, a CBS News correspondent, was in the square preparing a report for “60 Minutes” on Feb. 11 when the celebratory mood suddenly turned threatening. She was ripped away from her producer and bodyguard by a group of men who tore at her clothes and groped and beat her body. “For an extended period of time, they raped me with their hands,” Ms. Logan said in an interview with The New York Times. She estimated that the attack lasted for about 40 minutes and involved 200 to 300 men. Ms. Logan, who returned to work this month, is expected to speak at length about the assault on “60 Minutes” on Sunday night.

Lara Logan told the NYT about her experience in detail. She will be on “60 Minutes” this Sunday.@brianstelter

“My understanding was, that this was, in essence, in essence a misunderstanding. And that’s basically it. That it is was a misunderstanding. That no one understood what the girl’s age was.” - WFAN’s Mike Francesa

So the lesson here, according to Francesa, appears to be: if you’re a married, 51-year-old, former NFL linebacker who wants to bone a cheap prostitute in a fleabag hotel, always, always ask her first if she’s over 18, and then take her word for it, no matter what she says, JUST SO THERE’S NO MISUNDERSTANDING. Then, basically, it’s all cool.
