Yes, today is about the Giants & their Super Bowl hopes. I am with them big time. But Johan is here & Mets fans have to be thrilled. Now, Big Blue go out there & take of business, knock those Pats the F&*K OUT…. and then everyone can join me in a chorus of the Johan Santana song.Posted by Peter

Santana Wanted To Be A Met

Thanks to HotFoot.com for the back pages

Bob Nightengale of the USAToday gives Mets fans some quotes from Tori Hunter that not only will put a smile on their faces but backs up something Matt Cerrone over at MetsBlog.com has been blogging about since Dec. 8.

”The Mets are not only getting a Cy Young winner,” Hunter said, “but an absolute bulldog who’s great in the clubhouse. He’s going to dominate that league. They’re going to absolutely love him in New York.”

“I know he’s happy, too, because he really wanted to go to the Mets. He’s always wanted to swing the wood. He can hit.

“So I don’t know who’s happier, Johan, the Mets, or everyone in the American League because they don’t have to face him anymore.”

That’s Right Yankees Fans…

Friday Night May 16 or Saturday the 17th on National TV (FOX) or Sunday Night the 18th also on National TV (ESPN) this is who will be toeing the rubber for The Metropolitans at Yankee Stadium……

Oh and by the way he’ll also be on that same mound come July 15 as the Starter for the National League All-Stars.

YAY!!!!!!! METS GET SANTANA!!!!!!!!

Wow, I needed something to cheer me up & Omar came through.

Obviously, you’re getting arguably the best pitcher in the game,” Mets third baseman David Wright said.

“For our younger pitchers to develop under a guy like Pedro, a guy like Johan, you can’t ask for any better situation,” Wright said. “He’s going to go out there and he’s going to give you seven or eight innings every five days and he’s going to get you a win. That’s just what it comes down to. I’ve gotten a chance to get to know him a little bit the past couple years. He seems like a great clubhouse guy. He’s going to fit in perfectly with the chemistry that we have.”

Uhg!!!! Yanks Deny Removing Offer From Table

Hank Steinbrenner (Yankees Senior VP) told reporters in Tampa, Fla. “It’s still in the deciding process,”

Steinbrenner said reports that the Yankees recently withdrew a formal offer to the Twins for Pitcher Johan Santana are not true.

“There wasn’t an official offer anyway. You can’t withdraw something that wasn’t there,” Steinbrenner said. “There was no official offer on the table at this time.”

“There was no official offer on the table at this time.”

They are……who you thought……they were??

I don’t know why that last quote from the Hankster made me think of that Coors Lite commercial.

Well, the Monday afternoon report from ESPN Radio’s Andrew Marchand that “The Yankees have pulled their ‘Phil Hughes-centered trade offer’ for Johan Santana off the table”. Seems to not be accurate or more likely it’s just lots of “insider’s” talking out of both sides of their mouths. Either way…. I WANT SANTANA ON THE METS AND I WANT IT TO HAPPEN NOW!!!!!!!!! Ya, think if I e-mail Omar my demands he’ll go get’em?
