March Madness, startup style
screenshot by CNNMoney
I’ve been working on my NCAA bracket for two days, and I’m determined to win some cash. I placed third last year in the CNNMoney pool (set up by our own Paul LaMonica), and only first and second win money. Boo!
If my NCAA picks fall short again this year, though, perhaps I can console myself with a winning tech startup bracket!
That’s right: The dudes and chicks over at poll site This or That have set up “The Next Big Idea: 2011 Startup Madness Tournament. Click here to make your picks for the best “under the radar” startup (defined as under $250K in funding and revenue).
But get picking now, because the first round ends tomorrow. This or That tells me the rounds “basically follow the same schedule as the NCAA tournament –- ending the first week of April.”
Choose wisely, as the winner will receive a whopping $25,000 in prizes. As This or That says: The prize package “includ[es] free webhosting and a year’s supply of beef jerky, the only two things are real startup needs!” -Julianne
